Worried about a child? NSPCC Helpline
13 September 2010
Today two more child abusers having been given a prison sentence after abusing two young boys (BBC News: Margate couple jailed for abusing boys under four). What these children have gone through is appalling and the sentence given to the abusers ridiculously short; but thankfully these children have now been removed from danger.
These children have now escaped this ordeal thanks to concerns from members of the public. Unfortunately today children are still being abused as members of the public don't know who to turn to, or whether it would be an overreaction against the normal stresses of family life.
The NSPCC recently released an advert called "Everyday Choices" to put across the importance of making that initial call to help vulnerable children.
There is some information on the NSPCC website on: When to worry about a child, but if in any doubt about the welfare of a child then call the NSPCC Helpline on 0808 800 5000.
