Another farm that I went to when on holiday in Ayr Scotland was the Heads of Ayr Farm. We had been out for a drive before we went to the farm, so we did drive to it, but if we hadn't we could have quite easily walked as it was next door to the Haven Craig Tara Holiday / Caravan site.

It is located on the A719 between Ayr and the Electric Brae (a stretch of road where due to an optical illusion your car can appear to drive itself uphill - see Wikipedia Electric Brae).

Although described as a farm, there are about the same number of exotic (zoo) animals, as there are domestic farm animals.

We arrived at lunchtime so we went straight to the snack bar, and the baby changing facilities. We then ventured out around the park There were a few indoor attractions, including some coin operated JCBs and Tractors and some other climb on tractors. There were also a few indoor pet animals but the majority of the attractions were outdoors. This is great on a sunny day, but not as good for wet weather (compared with the likes of Farmer Palmers in Dorset England which we have visited on a wet day). If the weather is nice there is plenty to do.

There are plenty of animals to see, and feed including Llamas, goats, deer, donkeys and many more. There are however lots of other activities including playgrounds and the Jumping Pillows.

The Jumping Pillows are like a cross between a giant pillow and a bouncy castle. Adults and children can all go on and it's great fun bouncing around. At first this sounds like a recipe for disaster, but they are very big so unlike crowded bouncy castles you don't get too many problems of people bumping into you. A great way for adults to feel like kids again :-) .

For the more adventurous there are aerial slides, barrel rides and Quads (separate ones for adults and children).

All in all a great day out for all the family, but best to try and arrange a visit on a dry day.
