Baby Loss Awareness
12 October 2006
The 9th to the 15th of October is Baby Loss Awareness Week, a time to think about people whose lives have been touched by the loss of a baby during pregnancy or just after birth. The week is timed to coincide with International Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day on October 15th.
It's not something you generally want to think about but it's something that must have a large impact on the parents. Over 6,000 babies die at or around birth every year in the UK leaving a lot of families that have to deal with the loss of a baby. It's hard to imagine what they go through.
