Expired offer

Woolworths 3 for 2 stickerSome information for anyone planning to get some Christmas shopping from Woolworths. The buy 2 get 1 free offer has now finished. It is not obvious when you go into the store. The stickers that have been used for the offer (the present on the white background), is still on all the gifts, and there is nothing that says that the offer is not on any more, only an absence of the 3 for 2 signs. To make it even more confusing there are still some 3 for 2 signs, but these are restricted to certain items only (which incidentally still have the same stickers on).

I have nothing against special offers ending, but the way they have done this appears to have caught a lot of people out, including me. There is nothing to indicate that the offer had ended, and I don't recall ever seeing anything to suggest that it was due to expire before December. The goods also still carry the sticker, and whilst it may not have any official legal status, it is now a symbol that people associate with this offer. The first time you find out that the offer has finished is when the amount at the till is more than you expect.

In my opinion they should have either put up signs to indicate that the offer has now expired, or they should have removed the stickers.

Make sure that you check that any offers are actually still valid when buying from Woolworths.
